Present group work differently

Vernissage instead of presentation

The results of group work are usually presented to the other seminar participants. The vernissage is an interesting alternative to the classic presentation. The participants go from visualization to visualization and add their questions, differences of opinion, agreements and additions to the works. A vernissage guarantees a high level of participation and engagement with the results. Big advantage: the participants are on the move!

You know the situation: the participants in your workshop process the newly acquired learning content as part of group work. The results are then presented in plenary - either as complementary or competitive group work. This makes sense in many situations. However, every now and then it is worth using a different method.
Try a vernissage at the next opportunity. You will be amazed at how dynamic and creative this method can be. A moderated vernissage is similar to a vernissage in a gallery, where different people view different works of art and discuss the works over exquisite snacks. You can choose the same approach for your seminars - with the small, subtle difference that the works of art can be added to and changed.

It's so easy to integrate a vernissage into your workshop

  • The groups visualize the results of their work on a pinboard.
  • The participants go from "artwork" to "artwork", discussing the "artworks" with the other "guests", just like at a classic vernissage.
  • The artworks are supplemented by the viewers with symbols or texts as desired

    "I don't understand that."
    "I think that's really good."
    "I don't agree with that."
"I have more ideas about that" (make additions to the text).
  • In the plenary session, only those points that have been worked on by the participants are now discussed in more detail.
