How to improve the working atmosphere with a pinboard.

A method that is as simple as it is effective

In many companies, the mood could be better: Numerous employees make a fist of it day in, day out, or complain loudly to colleagues about all the little things they think are wrong. This potential for frustration can be turned into a positive force in a simple way - by setting up pinboards in different departments or in a central location.

For example, the heading for a pinboard in production could read as follows:
This annoys me
or
Stumbling blocks in the week 43
or
This gets in my way of being productive
Once the problems are on the table or on the wall, they are solved using the tried-and-tested 4-step model for dealing with issues and problems:

1. current situation

  • What is the problem?
2. target state
  • What would be the ideal state?
3. resistance
  • What obstacles can occur?
4. solutions
  • What solution ideas do we have? What are the 1st steps?
Instead of pinboards in the various departments, a central collection point can also be set up for destructive issues, which can be turned into something constructive by writing them down. The same applies here: take the pinboard to the next meeting and write down "actual, target, resistance and possible solutions".
