Description of the exercise
How is the exercise carried out?

The exercise takes place at a table. The table is divided into different squares: One for each player and a large exchange field in the middle. Now each player gets a few differently shaped pieces in their own box. The remaining pieces are placed in the exchange field.

Now the cheerful swapping of pieces begins, until at the end each player has a complete square of the same size in front of them in their square. But is this successful? Because there are certain framework conditions, such as the fact that talking is forbidden. How do the team members whose square is quickly complete behave? Are they still prepared to break it up again and continue swapping their pieces in order to achieve the overall goal? What strategies are chosen to complete the task?

Tools for making the dividers on the table are not included. You can easily create the partitions using painter's masking tape or string, for example. Otherwise, you can give the players the task of finding the means for the dividers - as an initial team task or warm-up for using the tool, so to speak. You can also simply leave out the subdivisions.
