Illustrative, activating and clarifying methods for moderation practice

This book will give your workshop moderation the necessary spice. Facilitation is stimulating, goal-oriented mediation work between the people involved and a topic. Moderators ensure good work processes, create structure, offer stimulating scenarios, moderate, visualize, have a catalytic effect ... Good tools are an elementary component of this. 87 suitable precision tools beyond the colorful cards are available here: Methods for attitude, preparation, introduction, topic processing, transfer - and also plenty of "lubricants".

About the book
When the two authors began to reflect on their facilitation practice a few years ago with regard to methods, experiences and insights and to sift through their notes, they did so with the aim of compiling a method file for facilitators. The result is a book about moderation ' and a comprehensive collection of tools at the same time.

The structure is based
* in the first part on a flow chart for moderation, including more complex issues.
* The second part is devoted to soft skills and techniques to keep the process running.
* A third part deals with the topic of "teaching moderation".

In all chapters you will find:
* an introductory look at the topic,
* a brief introduction to the tools
* and then detailed descriptions of the methods.

Most of the tools have been adapted, simplified, modified or redesigned in such a way that they can be planned into the practical process and - what is often even more important - can be used without much effort from the situation. What they all have in common is that they have proven themselves in practice as easy-to-use, descriptive, activating or clarifying methods.

In this book, the authors have dispensed with a detailed description of the basic moderation methods (e.g. what is a card survey and how do you do it ...). They take these things for granted as basic knowledge. Instead, they focus on the various tools that can be useful to you in the different phases or situations in a moderation process. You will find an overview of the basics in the "Basic rules" section.

The book is structured in such a way that you can quickly find what you are looking for. You don't have to start reading at the beginning ' the chapters are in a sensible order, but you don't have to have read a chapter to understand another one.
